Fun game. My biggest suggestion would be to add a keybind that allows the player to instantly reset them to their most recent checkpoint, probably mapped to R.

Not a bug a feature. There's plenty of cases where it's a bad idea to do that but in other places it can be very useful.
9/10 music
10/10 controls (you cant say less because its the best for the context of the game)
